APPLICATIONS & BENEFITS

Recommended for a wide range of Architectural and Institutional applications. A bonded, sanded assembly utilizing Structural Composite Lumber core offers maximum stability against warpage, excellent screw holding strength for hardware applications and reliable performance for larger vision lights. Available in non-rated or twenty-minute fire rated in a wide variety of veneers including plastic laminate.

DOOR THICKNESS
1 3/8" (nonrated only) and 1 3/4" (non-rated or rated). Additional thicknesses available. For information please contact Lynden Door, Inc.

STILES
Minimum 1 1/4" (before trim) laminated Structural Composite Lumber or mill option hardwood inner stile with outer matching hardwood edges (compatible with the face veneer).

RAILS
Rails are integrated as part of the Structural Composite Lumber core. Matching (compatible) rails available upon request.

BONDED SANDED CORE AND FRAME ASSEMBLY
Structural Composite Lumber core. Stiles and securely bonded to the core with hot melt adhesive and sanded as a complete assembly prior to the application of face veneers.

FACES
Pregraded: Hardboard, Medium Density Overlay, Plastic Laminate, or architectural 3-ply veneers (minimum 1/50" veneer before sanding), Veneers available in a wide variety of species and cuts. Selected Plastic Laminates (nominal 0.050") with standard 5-ply crossbanded construction only.

ADHESIVES
Type I PVA waterproof adhesive.

FACTORY MACHINING/DETAILING
Complete range of machining capabilities and detailing available. 20-minute rated doors must be machined in accordance with Warnock Hersey International, Inc. and National Fire Protection Association Standards, (NFPA 80, latest edition). Lynden Door, Inc. recommends factory prefitting of all fire doors.

LIGHT OPENING
Vision light requires a 6" margin between cutout and top rail (or any mortise prep for concealed hardware in top rail), 6" margin between cutout and edge of door, 12" margin between cutout and bottom rail and minimum 3" margin between multiple lite cutouts. Concealed hardware may conflict with warranty. Expanded vision light cutouts available. Maximum cutout size on 20-minute rated doors is predicated upon the fire rated glazing assembly.
