Features and Benefits - Residential Doors Standard Construction (SD) Series

Lynden Door manufactures the highest quality residential door possible - it's one of the things we are known for in the industry. This philosophy is carried through the process from purchasing components to the finished product. Listed below are just a few of the features that add real value for the residential door customer.

■ All door skins are pre-graded before manufacturing. Every type and style of door skin has its own inherent characteristics. Some of these characteristics do not meet Lynden Door quality standards and/or project specifications. Our purpose in pre-grading is to identify and remove any non-conforming products before they are used in the construction process and sent into the field.

Benefit: This process reduces job site visits made necessary due to face problems, and allows our customers to concentrate on new business.

Pre-grading in action - from individual skins to bulk lots, ready for fabrication. Our doorskin vendors consider us their final quality assurance stage gate. We use a bright light positioned to make even minor flaws obvious to a well-trained and experienced eye. Laborious, but with our vendors assistance (we return all culled skins for full credit) this painstaking procedure pays major dividends by keeping non-approved skins out of the field where replacement is a serious issue.

■ Lynden Door residential doors feature wide top and bottom rails. This useful standard differentiates us from the competition and shows our commitment to meeting customers needs.

Benefit: This will allow you to cut a door down by 1” on each end without jeopardizing its structural integrity. Also reduces re-railing costs and time lost.

■ Flush hollow core doors feature more paper than most competitors.

Benefit: More paper adds to the structural integrity of the door. A good, consistent spread of the paper "honeycomb" into the corners and tight to the stile greatly reduces the potential for irregular faces due to inadequate blocking. Results in a solid  sound and feel.

■ Two lock blocks in all book edge doors:

Benefit: Provides better structural integrity and handing flexibility for pre-hangers.

■ 3” wide particleboard lock blocks.

Benefit: This width combined with a wider stile gives you full blocking for a typical 2-3/4” backset cylindrical lock.

■ Birch and Red Oak four door bifolds are pre-graded before manufacturing into matching sets. When you purchase a Lynden Door Birch or Red Oak four door bifold, we guarantee a matching set or we will take it back.

Benefit: Eliminates job site visits due to poor or non-matching bifold sets.

■ Molded bifolds come standard with a flush back: Because molded and flush skins are so different, they are acclimated with each other for 48 hours prior to manufacturing.

Benefit: This process virtually eliminates warpage due to an unbalanced construction, and provides a cost benefit to the customer.

■ LDI Trucking. All doors are shipped by the safest, fastest and most economical means possible. In most cases that means Lynden Door's own fleet of tractor trailers and our specially trained drivers, or a proven, trusted group of transportation partners.

Benefit: Receiving doors in perfect condition, on time and by a courteous transport professional means you can concentrate on the doors and leave the driving to us!

In summary, Lynden Door, Inc.’s commitment to keeping all fall down within its facility and out of the field is what gives you the highest quality and the best overall value for your dollar and time.

These important quality assurances, combined with short lead times; on time deliveries; and innovative designs that allow our customers to “Rediscover Doors” are some of the main reasons to choose Lynden Door.
